Yoga Classes

Commit to making time for yourself & it will have a profound effect.  Dedicating to your practice will transform your body & mind, bring radiant health, reduce stress & fatigue, & allow you to give your best to all you do.

At One Yoga Center we offer both group & private instruction in Hatha/Raja Yoga & have extensive experience working with all levels of practitioners.  Our studio will be your sanctuary where you will learn & practice the ancient teachings of Yoga in the company of the collective Sangha.

A Yoga mat is required for all classes.  Chairs are available for those who prefer them.

Private Lessons

Private lessons offer the same techniques as group classes, but give you the opportunity for ONE-on-ONE assistance to take you deeper into your practice & focus on what you are interested in learning. We are available to teach private individual or small group lessons.  We look forward to assisting you on your path to wellness & ONE-ness.

Tribal Belly Dance

One World Tribal Belly Dance is directed by Chelle Atma Devi Jozefczyk.  Our tribe’s intention is to explore improvisational Tribal Fusion Belly Dance in an atmosphere that emphasizes joy, acceptance, & respect.  We aspire to develop sisterhood & community where all are welcome to join.

Tribal Belly Dance is a fun & unique workout that strengthens the entire body, develops confidence, & creates a special bond amongst dancers.  Through this beautiful dance you will also cultivate a deeper connection with your body and breath.  No prior dance experience is required.  Class is your time to laugh, move, & breathe.  If you’re looking for a different way to workout & connect with your friends, Tribal Belly Dance classes are for you!

 

Classes will consist of:

  • Warm-ups

  • Isolation techniques & drills

  • Tribal Belly Dance movements (fast & slow) with a focus on proper dance posture

  • Combos, transitions, layers, & levels

  • Putting it all together

  • Cool down

Barre Classes

  • Stabilizing Surface (Chair, Stool, Wall, etc.)

VIRTUAL Optional Props:

While Barre classes can be done with no props at all, we may invite you to use the following (or household items that can be substituted):

  • Hand Weights - a heavier & lighter set (water bottles, canned food)

  • Yoga Block (small pillow or sturdy blanket)

  • Fitness Barre Ball (small pillow or sturdy blanket)

  • Sliders (socks)

  • Resistance Bands

Our Barre classes are led by Chelle & specifically designed to increase your strength, stamina, & overall wellness.  During these upbeat low-impact fitness classes you will be guided through a full-body workout that utilizes the signature small, isometric, & fiery movements of Barre.

New to Barre - NO PROBLEM! Our Barre Basics Beginner class is where you should start. This class will introduce the fundamental shapes, movements, alignment, & spiciness typically found in a Barre class while moving at a pace that is comfortable for learning.

No matter your experience, all of our Barre classes encourage you to find your level with plenty of modifications & variations provided to ensure the class is accessible to all.

Yoga Classes

Breath & Meditation

Breath & Meditation (All Levels) Class. In this class, we will learn how to breathe properly & focus the mind to bring more peace & harmony into our daily lives. Using simple breathing & concentration techniques, we will take good care of the breath & harness the Vital Living Force in order to cultivate radiant health, as well as calm the nervous system & mind. No prior experience is necessary. Meditation cushions or chairs are available for your comfort, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water.

RELAXATION CLASS

Relaxation (All Levels) Class. In our Relaxation class, we welcome all levels of experience to join us to breathe deeply & learn various techniques that will drain stress & tension while replenishing vitality to the body & mind. We will offer slow & gentle movements that can be modified for all to receive the healing benefits (even while sitting in a chair), along with simple breathing & concentration techniques. The practices will flow gently together to restore overall wellness, harmony, & peace. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga (All Levels) Class. Restorative Yoga is a style of Yoga that focuses on healing the body & soothing the mind & nervous system by utilizing the prolonged holding of a few simple poses while the body is fully supported by props. It is suitable & recommended for all levels of experience. With the body comfortable, your breathing & heart rate will regulate while the body releases tension & fatigue. This class will allow you to reach deeper levels of relaxation & you will leave feeling fully rested & restored. Basic breathing techniques (pranayama), relaxation, & meditation will be practiced as well. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Gentle Flow Yoga

Gentle Flow Yoga (All Levels) Class. No Yoga experience necessary for this class!! A beautiful sequence of gentle Yoga poses, designed to relax & nurture the body & mind. In this class, our focus will be on slowly “flowing” from one posture to the next to restore peace & balance to your system. The slower pace will calm the mind & nervous system & allow you to breathe deeply & drain tension. Plenty of modifications & variations will be provided to make this class accessible to all levels of experience & allow you to level up or down as needed. Emphasis will be on relieving stress, introspection, & physical awareness. A great class for those returning back after many years, or just beginning for the first time. Basic breathing techniques (pranayama), relaxation, & meditation will be practiced as well. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Yoga REFRESH EXPRESS

Yoga Refresh Express (Experienced Beginner to Intermediate) Class. Let’s take a break from the day to refresh the mind & body. This 30-minute express Yoga class is perfect for Intermediate & Advanced Level students, as well as experienced Beginners who feel comfortable with the basics & are ready to be more challenged. We will offer numerous asana (posture) variations & modifications for all to explore, but the emphasis will be on “flowing” from one pose to the next, so some experience is recommended. The class will conclude with a brief savasana (relaxation) that you may remain in as your schedule allows. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Yoga Level I

Yoga Level I (Beginner) Class. This class is perfect for Beginner students who are just getting started, those healing from injuries or illnesses, mothers-to-be, or any practitioner looking to slow down & deepen their understanding of the fundamentals. Our focus will be on learning the basics of Yoga slowly & safely. We will provide detailed instructions on proper alignment for your body & ways to modify the poses or breathing techniques (pranayama) to suit your needs. Each class will begin with a warm-up, move into learning & experiencing basic Yoga postures, breathing & meditation techniques, & then finish with a long relaxation (savasana). Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Yoga Level I & II

Yoga Level I & II (Experienced Beginner to Intermediate) Class. A slight step up from Beginner Yoga Level I – this class is for Intermediate & Advanced level students who want to move a bit slower, as well as Beginners who feel comfortable with the basics & are ready to be more challenged. We will continue to break down some of the newer poses with minimal details but will be “flowing” & learning more postures & variations. Throughout the class, we will start with the basic pose, breath, or meditation technique where you are welcome to stay, & then offer the next stage with guidance so you can tailor the class to your specific needs & level. Each class will begin with a warm-up, move through the physical exercises (asanas or postures) then the breathing (pranayama) & meditation techniques, & finish with a long relaxation (savasana). Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Yoga Level II

Yoga Level II (Intermediate) Class. Our Intermediate Yoga Level II builds upon the foundational poses (asanas), breathing (pranayama), & meditation techniques from the Beginner class so practitioners are strongly encouraged to attend Level I until they are comfortable moving deeper. This class will add a bit more challenge with a slightly quicker pace & new posture variations with minimal details. We will also deepen our practice of pranayama (breathing techniques) & meditation & enjoy a long savasana (relaxation) to finish. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Yoga Level III

Yoga Level III (Advanced Intermediate) Class. Level III Yoga class is a deep & challenging asana practice for Advanced Intermediate students who have a regular Yoga practice. We will offer numerous variations on the poses from the previous levels, as well as go deeper into Yogic philosophy to evolve your Sadhana (practice). The balancing sequence of asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation & savasana (deep relaxation) will ignite your entire bodily system & bring stamina, focus, & overall peace. Please bring a Yoga Mat & Water - Optional Items: Eye Pillow (or small towel to cover eyes during relaxation).

Belly Dance Classes

Belly Dance Level I

Belly Dance Level I (Beginner) Class. No prior dance experience is required! This class will introduce you to the foundational One World Tribal improvisational belly dance movements. This is a fun & unique workout that strengthens the entire body, develops confidence, & creates a special bond among dancers. Through this beautiful dance, you will also cultivate a deeper connection with your body & breath. This class will prepare you to audition to join the One World Tribal performance troupe should you wish to do so. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (non-grip recommended) & Water - Optional Items: Finger Cymbals (Zils) & Costuming (Hip Scarf, Skirt, etc.)

Belly Dance Level II

Belly Dance Level II (Intermediate) Class. In our Level II class, we will build upon the foundational belly dance movements learned in Level I. Students are expected to have a basic ability & understanding of the improvisational movements. This is a fun & unique workout that strengthens the entire body, develops confidence, & creates a special bond among dancers. Through this beautiful dance, you will also cultivate a deeper connection with your body & breath. This class will prepare you to audition to join the One World Tribal performance troupe should you wish to do so. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (non-grip recommended) & Water - Optional Items: Finger Cymbals (Zils) & Costuming (Hip Scarf, Skirt, etc.)

Belly Dance Drill & Dance

Belly Dance Drill & Dance (All Levels) Class. In our special Drill & Dance class, dancers will work on improving their One World Tribal Belly Dance technique with minimal verbal instruction & lots of leading & following along. We will focus on committing the steps to muscle memory, developing our non-verbal dialogue, & building stamina, strength, & endurance by simply dancing! All levels are welcome to join, although it is recommended to have taken 4 or 5 Tribal Belly Dance Level I classes so you are familiar with some of the movements as we will not spend much time breaking the basics down. This class is for drilling One World Tribal Belly Dance movements & while it will enhance your dance, it will NOT give you everything you need to join the One World Tribal performance troupe. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (non-grip recommended) & Water - Optional Items: Finger Cymbals (Zils) & Costuming (Hip Scarf, Skirt, etc.)

 

Barre Classes

Barre Basics

Barre Basics (Beginner) Class. Our Barre Basics Class is specially designed for beginners who are interested in a low-impact fitness workout to build stamina, strength, & endurance. In this class, you will be introduced to the fundamental shapes, movements, alignment, & spiciness typically found in a Barre class, while moving at a pace that is comfortable for learning. Plenty of modifications & variations will be provided to make this class accessible to all levels of experience as you develop your strength & dexterity. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (grip socks recommended), & Water.

Barre

Barre (Intermediate) Class. Barre straight up!! This is our signature Barre class recommended for those with some experience who are ready for the next step. This is still a low-impact fitness workout, but the quicker pace & additional complexity of movement make this intermediate level class more challenging while building upon the stamina, strength, & endurance created in Barre Basics. Plenty of modifications & variations will be provided to allow you to adjust the spiciness to your needs. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (grip socks recommended), & Water.

Barre Flow

Barre Flow (All Levels) Class. Barre combined with a Vinyasa Yoga Flow. This all-levels class is a challenging, low-impact fitness workout designed to develop both strength & flexibility. Plenty of modifications & variations will be provided to allow you to adjust the spiciness to your needs. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (grip socks recommended), & Water.

Barre Sweat

Barre Sweat (Intermediate) Class. Our Barre Sweat class is fast-paced & fiery combining Barre strengthening with high-intensity cardio circuits - guaranteed to make you sweat! This is still a low-impact fitness workout, but the stepped-up pace & additional complexity of movement make this intermediate level class more challenging, so some Barre experience is recommended. Plenty of modifications & variations will be provided to allow you to adjust the spiciness to your needs. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (grip socks recommended), & Water.

Stabilization Class

Stabilization (All Levels) Class. Our Stabilization Class is a low-impact fitness workout specially designed for each practitioner to build stamina, strength, & endurance. All levels are welcome & multiple variations will be provided to both meet you where you are while challenging your inner athlete. This class is especially helpful for those looking to strengthen & stabilize their body to prevent injuries. Please bring a Yoga Mat, Socks (grip socks recommended), & Water.
